@anyvisionispossible: So hyped for Winds of Winter. The TikTok conspiracy that the Hightowers are building a mech to fight the Greyjoy kraken is one of the funniest and most creative fan theories to come out of the House of the Dragon and A Song of Ice and Fire community. The theory comes from Oldtown, where House Hightower controls the Citadel, the center of knowledge, science, and engineering in Westeros. Fans point out that Oldtown is one of the most technologically advanced places in the world, full of maesters, strange inventions, and ancient knowledge. Because House Greyjoy’s sigil is the kraken, TikTok theories joke that the Hightowers are secretly building some kind of giant machine or weapon to defend Oldtown if the Ironborn ever attack again, especially since the Ironborn historically raid the Reach and the western coast. The conspiracy became popular because it mixes real lore with humor and speculation, which is why it spread across TikTok, Reddit, and Game of Thrones fan communities. In the lore, Oldtown does have strange ancient structures like the Hightower itself, which some fans believe is built on black fused stone similar to Valyria, adding to the mystery. While there is no actual canon evidence that House Hightower is building a mech, the idea fits the theme that the Citadel represents knowledge and innovation while the Greyjoys represent the old way of war and the sea. The theory is mostly a joke, but it shows how active the ASOIAF, House of the Dragon, and Westeros fan communities are when it comes to creating new theories and expanding the world beyond what George R. R. Martin has written. #hightower #greyjoy #asoiaftiktok #gameofthroneslore #windsofwinter
