@gethelpwithproctoredexam: Understanding aphasia is essential for neuro-diagnostic success. Broca aphasia (non-fluent, effortful speech) and Wernicke aphasia (fluent but meaningless "word salad") both present with impaired repetition due to cortical damage. When repetition is preserved, the deficit is classified as Transcortical, typically caused by watershed zone infarcts that spare the core language circuit. Conduction aphasia is the "one-deficit" subtype where only repetition is impaired because of damage to the arcuate fasciculus bridge. Finally, Global aphasia represents the most severe form, where Broca, Wernicke, and the connecting fibers are all infarcted, resulting in a total loss of comprehension and expression. Use the "fluency-comprehension-repetition" framework to quickly differentiate these clinical presentations and accurately localize the underlying Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) lesions. #endometrosis #study #student #nursingnotes #fyp
