Sadly enough Wow I fall into this category. I have over 6 years of active job experience as a licensed pharmacist from Nigeria. Have been in Canada for 2 years now and am yet to get a job as a pharmacist assistant, not even a pharmacist position. The licensing process for a pharmacist in Canada is very stressful and discouraging. I need a good job

Even moving within Canada is hard! I had my nursing license in Quebec and moved to Manitoba. Took me almost a year before I could get my full license

As PSW I have seen alot of injustice for some people,I work with an eye surgeon as PSW because she can't get her certificate. I met a doctor who works as PSW 😭😭 I met RN who works as PSW.

My husband has two Masters, one from abroad and the other from University of Waterloo and got his Phd from University of Toronto 10 years ago. He couldn’t find a job in Canada for almost 10 years now and he is driving Uber. This is a sad but true reality in Canada.

With a bachelor degree in Pharmaco Biochemistry and a master's degree in Education and 13 years of experience in education, I can only work as an Ed assistant in Alberta. Yet I see the needs but can't do anything.

It’s an example of a law/regulations that was introduced at a time when that demonstration was needed because certificates and references were not enough. It is from a time when methods and practices in medicine around the globe were starkly different and large organisations needed common practice. Perhaps things have changed a little and it’s time to review, but don’t shake the finger so hard at a system that addressed a real risk and kept you safe for many years. Praise yourselves for having done well and look at how you can continue to be better.
