We made an offer of $600,000 on a $700,000 condo, seller said nothing below 680,000, we walked away. The next week realtor called and said they had multiple offers and would we be willing to offer 650,000, this house was on market for a year and all of sudden they had multiple offers. We said no, this house needed a lot of updates and once we did the work the neighborhood wouldn’t support a house more than 750,000 if we wanted to put it up for sale. The next week the realtor called and said a 95 year old wanted this condo really bad, would we offer 630,000, we said no. Next week they accepted our offer of 600,000. Two take a ways, 1) it’s a game and 2) you have to be willing to walk away.
