bisou balm from Violette Fr !!! I s2g makes the most French Girl Blotted lip so simple. They are hydrating, the texture is amazing, and they are not TOO pigmented, so they’re foolproof for lips and cheeks. I have so many colors but i use Sucette like every day.

My grandfather was born in France and his sisters, my great aunts, were queens of the effortless French girl makeup. I love your take on this look, but I also offer the alternative: the almost totally “kissed off,” no liner, matte red lip. My aunties taught me to do this with a now-discontinued Revlon lipstick. They would dab it on in a couple spots and use their ring finger to spread it over their lips and then aggressively blot onto a tissue. It always looked gorgeous. I use the Bisou Balm from Violette these days, which gives the same effect and a lovely texture. That and the French girl eyeliner (brown, just a bit, and quite carelessly smudged) are my daily routine.

Tip: apply your red lipstick with your finger instead. It makes it look more stained versus sitting on top of the lip.
