Split Dimensions(Sara)(F_k🧊) :
Rush is my Favorite band as well. I got into them way too late and have concluded that I will never get to see them because how expensive it all is. Now with regards to this line up they put themselves in, well it's bittersweet as all hell. I'm glad to see Alex and Geddy do their thing but in a way it hurts in a sense that there is a void. If they dropped new music like this, I admit I'd probably ignore it or at the very least treat it like a completely different thing. I know bands often go through their stages and I can expect that but something about how they are currently just feels empty. I would hate to find out that this is in fact a 'Cash grab.'

in 1982, I saw my first Rush show! in 1983 we would catch another part of the tour with my best friend Mike. I had just introduced him to rush, and we camped out all night at Ticketmaster in Landover Maryland. after that, Mike and I would see at least one show per tour. sometimes it was just the two of us, sometimes we take family. we took his son Kyle to see them for the first time when he was three. sadly, when they announced the last tour and that they were retiring, we were not able to go to the show together. I was in the midst of getting married, and the one point I did look to see if I could get tickets and was shocked to see ticket prices as high as $1,000 a seat. it really was a shame, that my wife and I, who had met in 1982 and state friends throughout the years we're never able to go see Rush together. so when Getty and Alex announced this tour, I knew that we would have to come up with the money to see them. so on the day that I heard that they had scheduled shows, I got on the phone with my wife, I got on the phone with Mike and we decided that no matter what it took we were going to go see them one last time. although we are in Maryland, we chose The Cleveland Show as the one we would try to make. this show is the day after our 10th anniversary, and the day before Mike's 60th birthday. also, Cleveland is the city that broke rush to the US. when all is said and done, we ended up paying something like 2800 dollars six tickets. they're not the best seats, but like Mike said we're in the building. for us, the prices are something that we just have to live with. but as much as we'd like to blame the band, it really isn't. it is the industry as you said, and the scalping sites like StubHub. as for all these so-called fans, who say that they should hang it up, or it's only 2/3 of Rush, or Getty's voice is going. I say this, don't go. I'm happy for the guys, they love doing music, time caught them, who are we to tell them that they can't continue to try to entertain and make music. and in the spirit of Limelight, it's not about us and our fandom, it's about them making music!
