Democracy in the West really has no value, that part is true, but this thinking in the antithesis is anti-intellectualism, there is no democracy in Burkina Faso either, I don't think that people who are harmed by laws such as the ban on LGBTQ people think they have power. The only thing we should support is their fight against imperialism, otherwise, there is nothing socialist/communist or liberating about that leadership, don't let yourself be fooled by anything anti-Western, it is superficial to think like that and call yourself Marxist/communist.

I agree with the fact that what they've been selling us as democracy is nothing but plutocracy with a flavour of civil rights which are increasingly fragile. However, I would feel more compeled to listened if he denounced it as a false democracy rather than saying democracy is dead. I think that just serves to further the view that fascist dictatorships are the only option.
