been an atheist for a decade after being heavily involved in my church my entire childhood, currently reconstructing and I feel like my "time off" from Christ was so special and important and I don't regret a thing bc of the outlook on faith I learned from it 💞

If it isn't a belief you came to on your own...can you even truly say you believe it? I think little pockets of deconstruction and reconstruction are important all throughout a believers life...It's how we sort the false teachings of man from the truth sometimes...we'll never be perfect and have all the answers, which is why we should ALWAYS be looking to improve and understand where we can

Thats why I always say faith is a personal journey. Yes, church community and Christian leaders are important, but they should help you grow your personal faith, not build it up completely. Knowing why you believe what you believe is far more important than just believing something.

Absolutely agree. A lot of what I "knew" my whole life were just things I've been told. Over a year ago I started deconstructing, while reconstructing and I now KNOW God and have a deep personal relationship with Him.
