It’s literally the same though…they are mean because you don’t know what they go home to, and they are jealous of you because you don’t have the situation that they go home to. I teach my kids that “you don’t know what they go home to”, AND “because of that situation they are jealous of you”…SO “love them through it, don’t be mean back.”

As a mom I listen to what my kid says and then respond either you don’t know whats going on in their home or they’re jealous or um you’re in the wrong.

Which is good. Telling you they are just jealous of ypu risks ypu not reflecting if you are doing something that is making them react this way. Not everyone is going to like you and that’s ok BUT if most people don’t saying “they are just jealous is not going to help
