If the chicks come from a reputable hatchery and are healthy, your priority should be: • Reduce stress. • Provide clean water. • Give glucose and multivitamins if necessary. • Ensure proper brooding temperature. • Encourage early feed and water intake. The indiscriminate use of antibiotics can: • Promote antimicrobial resistance. • Disrupt normal gut bacteria. • Increase unnecessary production costs. Antibiotics should be used when there is a genuine indication and based on veterinary advice or a confirmed bacterial challenge—not as a routine for every chick.
