Plot twist (actually according to dermatologists): Sometimes it’s how you combine the products on one routine, and not just the product itself that makes you breakout. It can also be due to misuse. For example, you use a 2% Salicylic acid toner which is a good thing, but then you proceed to use a serum that also has 2% salicylic acid in the same routine which is redundant, and another is BHA and Retinol in one routine. And one example of misuse is using oil cleansers everyday for double cleansing even though you don’t wear make-up. Both examples lead to ruining the skin barrier and thus lead to acne.
