@um4r_films: Suleiman the Magnificent" Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Suleiman 29 PMA L/C ORD - SSG A hero of 1971 war who rescued a wounded comrade, Maj. P.D. Khan, after the Pakistani surrender, eventually escorting him to safety in Pakistan. The friend Suleiman carried on his shoulders was Major PD Khan, the second-in-command of 2 Commando Battalion (Suleiman's Battalion). At the time, PD Khan was recovering from a bullet wound at CMH Dacca. Suleiman went to the hospital and asked him to accompany him, but Khan refused, fearing that he might hinder Suleiman’s escape. Undeterred, Suleiman struck Khan on the neck, lifted his unconscious comrade onto his shoulders, and successfully made his escape. The two eventually made their way to Burma, then neighboring East Pakistan. PD Khan later rose to the rank of Lieutenant General and commanded 30 Corps in Gujranwala. Suleiman, who had been a coursemate of General Pervez Musharraf, & Maj Rana Bilal Shaheed, earned the nickname “Suleiman the Magnificent” from Musharraf and his peers due to his courage, valor, unwavering commitment, and remarkable defiance. They were all from the 29th PMA Long Course. Lt Col Suleiman made a promise to his friend Maj Rana Bilal Shaheed before his martyrdom that he would not surrender.
