Garm is a major character and antagonist in the Vinland Saga manga and anime. He appears mainly in the Eastern Expedition Arc (Baltic Sea War arc). He is a young mercenary around 17-18 years old, hired by Floki to assassinate Thorfinn. Garm is brash, cocky, and psychopathic, treating fighting and killing like a fun game. He is obsessed with finding strong opponents and gets particularly fixated on Thorfinn after seeing his skills. He loves battle, shows almost no fear, and struggles to understand why anyone would choose peace over violence. Appearance: Average height, lanky build, spiky hair, and a wild, energetic look. Personality: Arrogant, attention-seeking, and childlike in his enjoyment of combat. He is often compared to Thorkell because of his love for fighting strong foes. Abilities: Extremely talented fighter from a young age. He uses a special spear that can split into two shorter spears. He is skilled in acrobatics, stealth, close combat, and sensing danger. Background: As a child he was feared and called names like "Hellhound," "Little Demon," or "Man-eater" because of his violent nature. His name comes from Garmr, the mythical hound from Norse mythology that guards the gates of Hel. In the story, Garm repeatedly hunts Thorfinn for a "worthy fight," kills several people (including Jomsviking captain Vagn), and represents the cycle of violence that Thorfinn is trying to escape. He ultimately gets defeated by Thorfinn but remains alive and declares they will fight again someday. | #mmv #edit #vinlandsaga #thorfinn #garm - @muhaaep
