@leahhopehealth: Let’s be real… surgery can feel scary. 🫣 For my first surgery ever last year (when I had the skin removed on my stomach through a lower body lift, tummy tuck, and pubic lift) I was terrified I wouldn’t wake up from anesthesia. After that, it got a little easier. That fear of not waking up faded, but it was replaced with a new one… recovery. I prepare as much as I can for each surgery, but the truth is… there are things you just can’t plan for. There are parts you won’t understand until you’re living them. Some surgeries have been easier than I expected. Some have been harder. I have my 5th surgery next week, this time to remove the loose skin on my legs. I have very little fear now about not waking up… almost none, but still, a little. 🙈 But the nerves around recovery are still there. Because I know it’s going to be challenging. And I also know that no matter how much I prepare, I won’t fully know what it feels like until I’m in it. And that can feel scary. But… At least I know what I’m capable of. At least I know how strong I am. At least I know it’s ALWAYS been worth it. And one thing I’ve never once questioned is my surgeon. I’ve never had to worry about the quality of his work, my results, or whether he truly cares about my well-being and experience. Feeling confident in @modernplasticsurgery — his precision, his skill, his dedication, his care, and the way he truly shows up for his patients — gives me a sense of peace that can’t be replaced.
