i have 10 horses and only 2 are retired, me parents and i live on a farm and host shows. with 8 in a program and 0 social life, it has become very normal for me to fall asleep on the stairs less than 20 ft from my bed !! but i wouldn’t ever give it up for anything else

I bought my horse with 3 months left on my lease. I STRUGGLED with time with two of them. With one I can be in and out in 1.5 hours but two I never got out in less than 4 hours

Do English riders pony their horses at all? On days you’re just exercising and not working anything in particular, ride one and pony the other!

Had 5 at one point (two retired but still in light work, three in training) and was at uni and working as a trainer (part time) at the same time. Even though we had full boarding, so little to no barn work, taking care of them all, working them and spending time with them was literally a full time job, one that my parents where still paying for 😬 Loved it, but can really appreciate how much more quality time I can spend with my horses now that I have just the two retired boys

It’s a lot! I can’t keep up with 2 that are in work. I just downsized from 3 to 2 and once my old retiree passes I plan to never have more than one at a time again.

Can you have them together at the same time or is that too dangerous? It’s nice if they get a lot well and you can pony anyone even if you put a bareback pad on him and let him grave and have the other one, but that could be dangerous I suppose.
