@jakekocherhans: Replying to @Roy Roger I did a post yesterday talking about how you can order a SIBO breath test online if you didn’t want to wait months to get in for an appointment with your GI doc. Even though we rarely run these with clients, a looooot of people ask for them. I don’t think they’re useless, but I agree that the accuracy is questionable, and there are some studies that have shown a pretty high percentage of false positives on these tests. Right now my absolute favorite stool test is the one from BiomeFX, and it’s what we’re running with all of our clients. This is what tells you WHY your gut is dysfunctional, and how the SIBO developed in the first place. Do you have other gut infections? Do you have low beneficial bacteria? Is motility or digestion impaired? Is your gut lining damaged? That’s what this test answers. So while I’m not opposed to you running breath test… if you had to choose only ONE test to run to figure out how fix your gut, it would be a BiomeFX stool test. (even though it’s not diagnostic of SIBO specifically) #sibo #bloating
Omg and the breath test was soooooo difficult and you’re starving for so long lol

Can diastis recti cause SIBO? I tested positive score of 67 for methane SIBO. I also have Diastis recti 2 years post c-section.

can delayed early (first hour) gastric emptying be the root cause of sibo? is taking prokinetics the only way to improve this?

I don’t know much about the breath test, but I have heard that they can give off false positives and they can give off false negatives. All I know is I have a piece of paper with a whole bunch of numbers written down the whole page and at the very bottom is a red line that goes up and then drops down and below that is a black line that kind of pretty much goes straight across then up a little bit and then straight out and I was told that I have SIBO and when I asked which kind the G.I. doctor told me it doesn’t matter what kind you’re either pregnant or you’re not pregnant. Because I always thought it did matter what kind of SIBO you had because that determines what kind of antimicrobials or antibiotics that you take. My question is and what scares me if I’m being honest is having the bacteria sitting in my gut while I’m doing nothing but eating a low fob map diet and on some days, not eating at all and if we’re not killing the bacteria, isn’t it just sitting in there growing more and more and more even if we are living by the low FOD map diet. Me just know when there’s something in my gut that doesn’t belong there grosses me out and also I asked my G.I. doctor for stool test and he told me that I couldn’t have one unless I was having diarrhea because that’s the only time you do it. Western doctors piss me off so much!
