In the Persian dub of this part of the animation Cloud says: "Stay up there, drown in your memories." which is another beautiful interpretation that indicates Cloud is letting Sephiroth know he is now the only one believing the past still runs through present, staying in denial and delusions that he still can keep Cloud in there with him; while Cloud has accepted to let the burdens of the past, including Sephiroth, go and truly see the reality and lies apart, the veil uncovered. In return, Sephiroth answers undefeated: "I won't stay just a memory anymore." promising to come back soon in order to break this clarity Cloud is starting to build without him included.
