If the airline allows it. Bring his car seat on. They sleep well in car seats and also keeps them contained. My boy was VERY active. But on a plane in his car seat he assumed it was like being in the car. Don’t let him taste freedom. If you let him walk around once, he won’t want to stop.

Flight attendant of 30 years. Sucking items for clearing ears (lollipops, etc). Wrap toys to break up entertainment. Also the inflatable lay flat bed over seat for Coop. Just a few ideas

Hi! We just got back from Japan with ours. My biggest tip isn’t about what to bring, it’s just about mentality. In my opinion, as long as you and Hailey are positive and emotionally regulated, your boys will be too! They’re kids, they are going to fuss. Be kind to yourself and most important to each other. You’re a team, not against one another!

Screen time doesn’t count on airplanes so don’t feel bad about that!

My daughter was 18 months and we flew to Europe. Do your night time routine on the plane. Shorten his nap that afternoon, so tired on the plane. Feed the milk, bring his sleep sack or whatever he typically sleeps in, and portable sound machine. I let my daughter doze off while watching tv since I couldn’t rock her like normal, and then boom, lay them down and build a blanket tent over their head.

I saw someone recommend to give little ones a feed (bottle/breast) or dummy on takeoff and landing to help with the huge altitude change!

Snacks snacks snacks and just some more snacks. Re stickable stickers and motion toys like spinners and poppers. We did a trek 18 hrs when she was 8m and fed her on take off and landing. Bring extra clothes for EVERYONE and a plastic bag for soiled clothes. Don’t stress too much because there is an end in sight!! Have an amazing trip

He sleeps on the floor at your feet. Bring blankets and pillow to make him a pallet! My niece lived in London with young kids and traveled back and forth a lot! Worked like a charm! Also - suspend the screen time worries! It’s just a trip!

Bring an insane amount of diapers. Better to not need them than worry about rationing, especially if there is some sort of delay.

My tips are to have snacks that require sucking for cooper to help with any ear issues. Have a pacifier or feed the baby on take off and landing. For Cooper there are inflatable airplane beds or airplane hammocks. Just make sure they are FAA approved. But basically if parents are calm, kids tend to be calm.

Go to dollar store or target and get random little toys. Wrap them in wrapping paper and award him each hour with one for good behavior

Snack bags. Lots and lots of snacks. Be prepared to be walking up and down the aisles a lot. Favorite blanket or stuffy. Travel pillow and blanket.

We had a plethora of snacks. Not only for the plane but all the airport lines. Magnetic puzzles (melissa&doug ones), a Velcro busy book-these are easier to keep together throughout the trip too. Just keep expectations as low as possible 😅 you’ll survive & the memories are worth it!

If they end up having ear pain, ask flight attendant to soak paper towel in hot water and put in bottom of cup and then hold up the cup to ear covering it. Learned this as a kid from a flight attendant when I had bad ear pain as a kid on a plane.

Get the blowup mattress for airplanes. It goes all the way to the floor and makes it a level space for toddlers to sleep

Just did an 11 hour flight with my 20 month old - these cubes (in a mesh zip bag) were great. Also had a small bag of cars. Plus endless snacks.
