@jonnybartfast: The Wedding People Review! I know, I know, I’m a slow reader. #theweddingpeople #bookreview #BookTok #contemporaryfiction #alisonespach
This book got so much unwarranted hate (in my opinion), and I think it’s because a lot of people reading it couldn’t relate to Phoebe. But I could. And I envy the people who didn’t like the book because of that. It was the best book I read last year.

I picked this book up last summer because I’m a wedding planner and the title caught me, but went into it completely blind. It resonated so deeply in my bones. It still does. From the mental health aspects, divorce, running away & the idea of “starting over”, I cried so many times through. & it made me laugh when my life was falling apart. I fell in love with it because of how deeply it touched my life & how much it encouraged me to move forward :,)

I know this book got a lot of hate, but I really enjoyed it. I found phoebe really relatable. I think we all want an opportunity to be unhinged for a little bit. I also really liked the dynamic with Lila too

I can’t wait for the movie adaptation. The perfect casting would be Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Phoebe and Millie Bobby Brown as Lila.

ok so hated the first half, SO dark and intense and when life is dark it’s hard to sit with that stuff, but when she starts to come out and the dialogue is so real and raw I was like oh holy shit this is one that will stay in my mind/body/heart and *guide* me and tbh how many books do that?!
