These Halloween Caramel Apples have an outer layer of white chocolate with dark chocolate accents to resemble a cute ghost. Just 5 ingredients required and a super simple design. -4 whole apples of choice -8 ounces chewy caramels (~35 Werther's Chewy Caramels) -2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream -1 ¾ cups white chocolate chips -¼ cup dark chocolate chips -Rinse and dry your apples and pierce the top of the apple right next to the stem with a popsicle stick until it is about 2 inches deep. Line a baking sheet with wax paper (preferred) or parchment paper. -Add the chewy caramels and the cream to an extra-large mixing bowl. Microwave on high for 45-seconds and stir. Continue to microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. -Lift the apples by the stick and one by one, dip them into the melted caramel. Submerge the apple and spin until it's completely coated. You may need to tilt the bowl to the get the apples completely submerged. You can also use a spoon to smooth the caramel over any spots you miss. Lift the apple out of the bowl and allow any excess caramel to drip off. If you find the caramel is hardening in between each apple, you can reheat in the microwave for about 20 seconds to keep it loose. -Place the caramel-dipped apples on your lined baking sheet and put them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up. -Once your caramel is firm, it's time to melt your white chocolate. Add the white chocolate chips to a large bowl and microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted. -Using the same technique as you did with the caramel, coat the caramel apple in a layer of white chocolate. Set them back on your baking sheet and give them another 10 minutes in the refrigerator to firm up. -Finally, melt the dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals on high in the microwave, stirring in between. Use a toothpick to draw two oval eyes and a slightly larger oval mouth with the dark chocolate.
