Believe me once you start seeing your savings going up you lose the urge to take the money back out because you get obsessed with seeing it go up! Or that’s how it is for me and I’m a huge saver 🥰

Aside from the usual sinking pots (holiday, birthdays, car etc) I have a shopping fund! So any Vinted sales, top cash back etc I put in there and trying to only use this fund for shopping OR will do 50% from this pot and 50% my every day fund. Defo found I’ve A) spent less and B) motivated to sell more on Vinted

Gal we can do this!! I just turned 30, luckily I have no debt but have always struggled to save paycheck to paycheck. I now have £750 saved in my emergency fund and its actually the most I’ve saved and not touched in my life 😭♥️

I’m sorry but only £330? So if you were made redundant on Monday, what would you do?

Great job! I'd just say maybe flip the language in how you view it. Rather than think of paying it as debt for an emergency fund, think of putting money away in an emergency as paying for safety, paying a deposit for peace of mind. Language and framing aka perspective is also key to sustainability and consistency

OMG, I’m not the only one who keeps dipping into their emergency fund. 😅 I’m trying so hard to build wealth.

Moneybox do a 32 day withdrawal time only reason I’ve been able to save by the time it comes out you get paid again 😂 so it’s good

That's such amazing progress!! I have been doing the same thing with vinted, etc as I declutter my apartment. It's slow but it is so much better than the beginning and imo that's what matters ❤️

If you are putting money into savings and then dipping into the savings during the month you aren't budgeting according to your reality

Nationwide have a flexsaver which is 7% and allows 3 withdrawals within the 12 month period. Good for an emergency fund as it’s accessible but hopefully you are unlikely to dip in as you don’t want to lose the 7% interest. Premium bonds is also an option, accessible but withdrawal takes 3ish days so can be got in an emergency but again a slight barrier in place to avoid dipping in 😁
