Speaking during the pass-out ceremony of basic #military trainees at Oliver Tambo Military Training School today, Gen. Muhoozi said Uganda’s security agencies remain committed to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and ensuring that foreign interests do not influence its national direction. He stated that Uganda would “never allow anyone again to undermine the national interest in whatever shape or form,” emphasizing that the country would not tolerate agents of foreign interests allegedly working secretly to weaken Uganda’s progress or erode the patriotic and nationalist spirit of its citizens. The CDF further said Uganda would not permit foreign interests to determine the country’s national narrative, adding that the conduct of some individuals within the political and media spheres has direct implications for national security. Gen. Muhoozi called on members of the political class and the media to act responsibly in order to promote peace and security, warning against what he described as impunity among certain actors.
