its good for racing because you get to choose where the gear is so you can always stay in the powerband/high torque auto is way better for daily use though

Manual is good for non daily driver such as a corvette or mustang etc or if you drive on the highway alot, for a daily automatic is better for more city stuff but some people are purists that will die on the hill that Manual is better and refuse any automatic I personally dont like a Manual unless its a hot hatch or as stated a more performance oriented vehicle

comrade, you dont need to think about what gear you are in or to witch you should shift, it becames natural like a flow, hell i drive trucks and still prefer an 16 speed manual than any automatic day and night..

You get more control when you drive long hillside roads. In the city alone this is not good, but in the countryside people like it much better because you can down shift before you actually go onto the hill so to get more power to go up the hill. That is why I like to have it on my motorcycle

I used to be one of those pro manual, against automatics. Aways drove manuals but, nowadays, modern automatics are way better and make driving a lot more confortable in the insane traffic of big cities. Manuals only make sense, now, if you are in a real sports car, otherwise autos are the way to go.
