yea EcoGPT is just DeepSeek lets say EcoGPT doesn't own a AI brain. Instead it acts as a router. When you type a query into the app, it sends that prompt to an inference provider (like groq) which runs an open source model frequently DeepSeek. and costs 20$ per month

to me, the concept of an "eco friendly" generative ai model seems like greenwashing. It really just seems like the eco friendly claim is backed up by them saying they plant trees??? so i assume they're still using insane amounts of water

I know that ai is harmful but alot of people are still going to use it so atleast environmentally friendly ai gets rid of one problem what I'm concerned about is this looks like greenwashing they aren't very transparent also I feel like they won't even plant trees keeping biodiversity in mind

i think its good as more of a harm reduction thing, ideally no one would be using generative ai but the reality is they are and i'd prefer if they were using the lesser evil.

i try to use less and less c.ai but sometimes i use it for a few minutes and i am deeply ashamed. im scared because i feel like the whole world is gonna end because of me and that 5 minutes i spend on c.ai or use google to search for something for my education or whatever ( nothing dumb ). im having physical symptoms of deep anxiety ( no i cannot afford therapist ). im so scared and im so anxious and frustrated. im feeling morally twisted and filthy. it genuinely eats me alive.
