GentleRoots 🕊️ :
As an American, Palestinian, and Lebanese, this moment weighs heavy on my heart.
We are raised to believe in freedom, in justice, in the right to speak without fear. We are taught that our voices matter, that this country protects those who stand for truth.
But when I saw Salah Sarsour taken away, it shook that belief.
This is not just about one man. This is about what it means to speak, to lead, to stand for your community, and to suddenly feel like that very right can be questioned, challenged, or taken from you.
Salah Sarsour is not just a name. He is a father, a grandfather, a leader, a man who has given so much of himself to help others. Someone who showed up for people when they needed guidance, support, and strength.
And now, seeing him taken like this, it raises a painful question:
Where is the justice we were promised?
Where is the freedom we were taught to believe in?
Freedom of speech should not feel selective.
Justice should not feel distant.
And standing for your people should never make you feel unsafe.
Today, I am not just speaking out for Salah.
I am speaking out for every person who has ever felt their voice was not protected the way it should be.
We deserve better.
We deserve truth.
We deserve real justice. #freesalahsarsour
