I personaly recommend a Ninja 650 as a first bike, easy to learn on, and you won't "outgrow" it fast

My Triumph was vandalized by having the main harness cut clean through. waiting for the replacement made me absolutely crazy so I bought a 2nd bike so I'd never be without again.
