This is just way too much paranoia. I had so many sleepovers as a kid (both hosting and going). Instead of robbing your kids of a childhood experience, take the time to get to know the family and establish trust

im seeing alot of helicopter parent comments. i think yall are confusing that with setting boundaries. He is basically just saying as a parent he isnt comfortable with you sleeping under someone elses roof completely defenseless. which is a valid claim, but hes not saying my kid isnt allowed to live their lives or do anything fun. hes just saying you can have fun but their are some boundaries that need to be upheld for me to feel comfortable with giving you that privelige

Whatever you’re worried about happening at a sleepover can also happen at a visit when you’re not there and pick them up at midnight or whatever agreed time. Just know the parents whose house it is.
