I totally get why a business would want/need a two person minimum. BUT if they accepted the reservation for 1, that’s one them. They made an agreement and backed out of it.

Definitely leave a google review. How rude of them, especially when they had accepted the reservation and made you lose time visiting them. How did they expect it to go Ugh, so sorry that you've had this experience. Leave a google review, this is unacceptable.

High tea is literally tea, individual sandwiches & individual cakes. There is really no need for it to be for 2+ people. It’s not paella FFS 🤦🏼♀️

It’s not about making an exception, it boils down to exclusion. Everything is focused towards either couples or families. It’s wrong and very frustrating. Sorry you had do deal with this.

These comments are hilarious. I am from the UK and several times been told no to having high/afternoon tea on my own. And it’s ridiculous. If you booked on your own, they should have made that very clear to you! So totally on your side.

People being extra clever in the comments again. I stayed at a hotel that served breakfast menues for 2 people, priced 20€. I asked, they served me for one and charged 10€ every day, the entire week.

i wanted to try afternoon tea in london when i was solo traveling and so many places only offered reservations for two people that i ended up feeling stupid going by myself even tho i felt perfectly fine doing everything else by myself
