That does not have the safe mathematical up lift tolerance that that Simpson tie down does. I think engineers figure that out but I’m just an old carpenter.

May be code compliant, but don’t think it will have same uplift strength as a traditional hurricane clip where everything is secured perpendicular to uplift force.
