‼️‼️‼️VERY comorbid and not spoken about enough. i believe each person with either disorder fits at least two criteria for the other one. i am BPD (dxd at 13) with moderate NPD symptomology, and entering my PhD next year for psychology & integrative neuro; you are so correct.

this is part of why i'm not diagnosed. i have to be an adult for one, but also because i show symptoms of both cluster b's and c's and have nearly my entire life. symptoms only worsened as i got older and all i can do until i'm 18 is use the skills i'm learning in therapy. i'm 99% sure if any of my more severe symptoms were to come back literally tomorrow i'd be diagnosed before 18 but i'm not going to let myself get like that if i can help it even if it would get me that diagnosis

undergraduate pursuing a PhD degree in bs psych yes!! comorbidity, duration, criterias are important but there are other factors that need to be considered, like the risk factors, temperamental, and differential diagnosis. these are all the things we consider and we master in order to not make a mistake when it comes to diagnosing a client

That’s kind of the point of diagnostic overlap. 😭 Two disorders can share features while still being fundamentally different in presentation and motivation. Just because they share cluster B traits doesn’t mean they are interchangeable.

you sure about that? they're not completely different, and cluster b shares and concurrently they are vastly different in other ways. ASPD was my first diagnosis. BPD was my last.

Idk what all I am but I’ve been diagnosed with the more complex shit like a few years ago but always had some long term form of depression and anxiety and social anxiety and separation anxiety and adhd since I got tested as a young kid.. only more complex things had stemmed from that and traumas thru my life
