thats crazy. I grew up in church and heard all the 'stories' about church and China and I'll never understand why we were lied to so much? 😳 I'm not religious either but I do love Jesus. Happy Easter. ✝️

I'm from Singapore (born in the Philippines) and a Catholic. we went to hear the mass in Shanghai 2 weeks ago in St. Ignatius cathedral. if you do more research, Vatican and Beijing has no normalized diplomatic relations because Vatican doesn't recognize CCP (CPC) as legit government of china. the recognize taiwan as government of china. here's the photo of the church

Well when American churches send missionaries out they can’t send them the same way to China. Usually they have to be English teachers or get a job. So in that’s sense China is in fact much different/harder to evangelize to.

In China, my mother is a very devout Christian—as was her mother, and her mother before her; this tradition has endured for over a century. I, however, follow Buddhism. In China, one's faith is a personal choice.

China does not prohibit religious belief; it only restricts adherence to extremist religions. People are free to practice a religion, but they must not force others to believe or harm others. Normal worship, prayer, and the conduct of religious ceremonies are not restricted.

For reals! China allows freedom of religion, but they do not allow religious profiteering. If you think about it, Jesus was a carpenter who preached on his own dime and time. Being a paid preacher is self serving and does not follow Jesus' example.

Western propaganda might have been true in the 1980s, but from my experience traveling to China between 2010 and 2026, things have changed. In some ways, I actually feel more free and relaxed there than in Western countries — at least I can walk on the streets without constantly fearing crime.

So many lies about China while growing up. I spent some time there earlier in the year and loved every minute.

Stricter laws concerning religion in China. Would like to hear some details from a practicing Christian. I am surprised to see public worship like this.

China only shuts down illegal churches, just like Europe shuts down illegal mosques.
