I’ll never get the “seestar takes no skill” argument cuz neither does a somewhat automated setup. It doesn’t take me a whole lot of skill to select a target on NINA so why is it seen so different for the seestar? It’s like a double standard cuz the seestar has a reasonable price unlike anything else in this hobby and it’s pointless. Nice shots btw

All professional telescopes are essentially smart telescopes. I’ve never seen a manual observatory before, they’re just objectively better for astronomy

I love both types of telescopes as I do have a traditional telescope (not a professional one but I wish I had a pro one 💔, its also pretty old💔) but I am planning on a getting a digital one becuase I do not have the time to set up a whole entire professional trad telescope, mostly because of school 😭

the quality of your seestar pictures takes actual knowledge of the telescope, possibly an eq mount, and knowledge of processing. most images i see on the seestar Facebook page aren't as nearly good as yours even though theyre using the same equipment

I really need an EQ mount for the longer exposures. I’m doing a M51 project where I’m trying to get alot of data on it. Here it is so far at 2hr 40min with a Seestar S50

I'm still blown away that a 30mm objective can take such stunning pics. It's a testament to how amazing the IMX585 is

managed that last night after 90 mins but know it can defo do better and will take more learning and more patience
I’ve heard that smart telescopes use AI I was just wondering what exactly for? Are the images AI generated??
