As someone who’s considering a complete pivot from art to healthcare I get this. I used to feel like I failed at my first dream career and am not starting over at something else. But in reality I got to spend 10 years doing one career. Realized how shit it is, and now I get to try my second love. A life where I get to try all the different jobs and interests sounds so much more interesting to me than a whole life doing one job

Hi from a mid-30s career girly who felt random and lost in my career until one day, I didn’t! This post spoke to me so much. While I still have things to figure out and learn, I had this aha moment when I started my latest job that felt exactly like you said, like all the random pieces had fallen into place to bring me to this happy point in my life where my family, my job, my hobbies all line up to be perfectly ME, at least for now. So to all who are reading this, your moment will come too. Keep opening doors, don’t give up, build community, and keep doing the things that bring you joy even if it doesn’t feel career-oriented.
