The distinction between the anima and animus is fundamentally moot, as it serves the same function regardless of gender. It's essentially a "bridge" to the subconscious, or if personified, the guide to the "bridge" to the subconscious, where you find those parts of yourself you seek in others. Not to mention that seeking what you seek in yourself in others isn't necessarily a bad thing, but can lead to codependent ways of being.

It’s also the basis for Jung’s collective unconscious, we’re all made of the same mental building blocks of being human and just arrange them in different ways based off of what we identify with and what we repress. The true self is really one with the whole, and our identity comes from the pieces of the whole that we associate with “ourselves”

this is one of those fascinating concepts that Carl had in my opinion. I went through an anima possession in 2019 and had no idea what the heck it was, learning about the self projection aspect of the anima completely changed the way that I interact with new females that embody that projection now.

So,basically, I am my ideal man😂 That is, Love for another person is love for a part of yourself that has yet to be integrated. But in order to maintain a relationship, you need to see a separate person and not an "ideal other". Thanks for the insight. It's so right on time.

We all have masculine and feminine aspects. It's just a ratio we have to find for ourselves.
Hence why I think jungs framework with the anima/animus visualized with the yin and yang is very important.

My ‘transformation’ from Nietzsche to Jung is complete. That last part about love is spot on for me 😀.

or, t waited for a need to reveal itself. sometimes a trait may be stifled because of previous traumatic outcome when said trait is displayed, I remains hidden UNTILL the pain pleasure threshold is crossed and an unguarded subconscious reaction occurs do to duress. We have, we store many traits, waiting for the appropriate or seemingly needed time to reveal. Shadows, lurking in some cases, hoping in others, the key may be held by one yet to encounter YOUR door.
