"Pull down" is confusing. "Pull" makes the other pilot think of pulling the stick and making the nose go up when the intention was to get the nose down so air flows back into the wings and gets out of the stall. This led to dual input: pilot 1 was pulling up, and pilot 2 was pushing down.
