In some models, a J1 jumper or designated reset contact pads on the motherboard can be used to restore the recorder to its default settings. The general process is: Power off the recorder and disconnect the power supply. Remove the cover carefully to access the motherboard. Locate the J1/reset contact points, which may be positioned near the HDMI port or DC power input. Short the designated contacts using suitable metal tweezers or a small wire. Apply power while maintaining the short for approximately 15–20 seconds, depending on the model, until the reset confirmation/beep occurs. Power down, remove the short and restart the recorder to begin the initial setup process. Important: Jumper locations and reset procedures can vary between Dahua models and hardware revisions. Do not randomly short motherboard pins. Always identify the correct reset points for the specific model before proceeding.
