All this tells me is that Americans hate taxes if they can't see the benefit. It reminds me of the scene in "Hook" where Peter asks why there are spoons at the table and the response is "we have them so we don't have to use them". I personally would gladly pay a bit more in taxes for my part to make sure everyone could get care they need without going broke.

I needed to see a highly specialized cardiologist for a brand new medical condition. There wasn’t a doctor that would see me in my state for 6 months. I ended up being in the ER for this condition and the ER doctors negotiated for me to see a cardiologist even though they didn’t usually treat my condition. I had to wait another 3 months to see her because she was fully booked up… we have just as long of weight times as any other place.
