After working in a school for 12 years I’m on my 8th month of my new job. I’m loving life. No evening stresses. WFH half the week. And finally being able to book a holiday & afford for us to go away. Feeling like I’m trusted and not waiting for someone to come & observe me. Don’t even get me started on the pay. I loved working with kids all of the time I was there, but when you know it’s time to move on , it’s time to move on 🥰

I couldn’t cope with the stress of teaching, so much paperwork and demanding parents etc on top of that not being able to take holidays in term time & having to pay crazy prices in the holidays I just couldn’t do it anymore, I work in a prison now (still as a teacher) I get more money, I can take annual leave any time in the year & I don’t have to have any contact with family! There’s still paperwork but nowhere near as much, plus half days on Fridays is a great plus too😋

I left teaching this year and now I work for an organisation that works to prevent animal suffering in remote communities with limited veterinary access. It’s SO nice on this side!!

preschool teacher here. The attitude of the parents is what I could not handle at all. Left, got married, enjoyed honeymoon and tons of other trips, invested in me, started feeling like myself again, moved abroad but I now that I'm in a new country with different working conditions, I feel like I'm ready to give it one more shot and start working as a preschool teacher again. The last 2 years I switched to babysitting cause it gave me such piece of mind while still getting to work with children!!!

What job do you have now? How are you taking so much time off? That is my biggest concern not staying in teaching. Seems like other jobs don’t offer the same about of time off.
