I get them checked as well. no way do I want to hit anything and lose my profit. better safe than sorry.

Gas line, water lines, sewer lines are all below 18” where we are per code, most stop grinding is 6” or less, but if your grinding 18” below grade your doing great work

I’ve been doing stumps for a 7 years now and have hit a gas line for a pool heater once and internet cables a few times

One I had marked in the front yard of a newer home had gas line under the stump! Yup, landscapers planted tree right on top of it! So, def good to call. That coulda been ugly
