@manlyobserver: MOTHER FORCED TO LEAVE KIDS AND HUSBAND IN GOVERNMENT DEPORTATION Kim and Jack from the @manlyobserver team are currently in a small town in South Australia for an independent news convention (Local Independent News Association). Jack stumbled across this family this weekend and we've elected to share the story on our channels to amplify it in partnership with the local paper. For a more detailed article about it, pop on over to Murray Bridge News. The story: A mother living in the South Australian town of Murray Bridge is facing deportation, permanently separated her from her Australian husband and their three Australia-born children. The woman came over from Taiwan to work at a local meat processing facility, where she later met and married a local man and settled into community life. However, authorities have determined that she provided incorrect information on her visa application twelve years ago, after failing to declare a previous visit to Australia made under her Burmese name. The government says the visa breach means they remove her from the country within 28 days, sending her back to Taiwan while her husband and Australian-born children remain behind. The local community is now rallying behind the family, calling on authorities to allow her to stay on compassionate grounds. “Heavenly Father, we lift this family into Your hands. Lord, please make a way where there seems to be no way. Let every door of mercy, favor, and protection open for them. Stop every plan of deportation and let Your grace speak on their behalf. Cover them with peace, remove fear from their hearts, and let justice and compassion be shown to them. Keep this family together and be their refuge in this difficult time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

The Scorpion Queen :
My friend and her partner of 5 yrs ended up with a broken relationship because their partner visa initially lodged onshore and 2nd time offshore was refused - loosing 16k and the stress & anxiety they went through over a period of 4 yrs to get the 2nd refusal completely broke them...now they are no longer together...so this is not the only case!! should have sought professional help with a migration lawyer from the beginning

Manly Observer :
UPDATE: after mass support online and thousands of signatures on the Change.org petition, the mother, Ying-Hsi, has been given a month-long temporary visa while the federal government decides whether she will be granted a partner visa.
