as a landlord I would prefer you screw them in. sticky tape often does more damage. most people don't apply heat when removing them. they usually rip them off than there goes a large chuck of drywall. 2 small screw holes are easier to spackle over probably no painting.

That tape gonna rip that texture right off the drywall when you go to move out. Better off with mounting with two tiny screws and smudge of Drydex for the tiny holes left behind when you move out.
