I cried so much while reading this because before Papa got sick, he was so kind and very close to us. Then one day, our aunt called and said he had a stroke. From that moment on, his behavior completely changed. All the traits we loved about him were gone; he wasn't the father we used to know anymore. My siblings and I have changed so much because of this. It feels like we are depressed, or like we lost our father even though he is still here. We are still grateful that he is alive, but the person he used to be is gone. Now, the only thing he gives us is money to survive, but not the love of a father. If I were granted one wish, I would choose to be poor again, as long as we have someone who gives us love. I would trade everything just to feel that affection again, even just for a little while.
