I’m surprised they don’t have a process like in the “The Giver” for the elderly since there’s limited resources and what resources they have would be allocated to the younger generations. I guess since they’ve scaled back on medical care the long life expectancy we have now would start dropping without medicine we have now.

that's what always blew my mind is that they were so worried about the birth rate and population yet they'll unalive someone for looking the wrong way. Like if we're worried about how many people are being born shouldn't we also give at least a tiny crap about the people already here?
