They use to wait at my old facility for us and then tell us oh soso bed been malfunctioning like tf maintenance was here why you didn’t tell them 🙄 and us as true night shift would change out the beds or fix them 🙄

Maybe on your unit, I guess it depends on where you are. Every unit that I’ve worked on was the opposite and I did both day and night shift. Night shift did nothing but sit on their phones all night and day shift had to do all the work.

Each shift has there responsibilities, and tasks- but for goodness sake if there is time you have, work as a team and just do a quick extra task that hasn't been able to be completed it is 24/7 care. I have worked all 3 shifts. We are slightly out numbered on nights and do what we can with the extra requests... 🙃
