Same for me girl. (Moroccan Muslim parents living in Belgium.)But you know what? Fck this. I signed the contract without telling them, there was no return once i signed. Got all my important stuff in boxes and bags ready for like a week, and then I told them «Okay, I’m leaving. I wish it could’ve been done in another way with your help and support but if you want to never talk to me again just because I’m prioritizing my own happiness and life choices over yours, then that’s on you and the kind of parents you choose to be.» At the beginning, it was hard ngl, but now, they come to my apartment every Sunday to eat with me 🥰 And it actually made our relationship closer and healthier ! They just needed time to accept it and see by themself that im a grown a** adult who can be independent and happy without marriage. But most importantly, I’m proud of myself for not letting myself down, and I know they are too (secretly lol). If you want to move, move girl. You have only one life. No time for regrets, just live it as you want to

sigh.. its werid for me to dreams about that... i will be 18 soon, and even if im 40 my arab parents never allow a girl go alone even if its for study or independent because "girls get pregnant" even if im in a safe country&street,
i find it sad watching others who can go and their parents support them.... but also happy for them ♡
however.. imagine my younger brothers can go in night to get breads, etc....
and me don't even allow to go to school alone...(its only 7 minuts, and im not a minor)
:(...
im sad.
