And he’s the tallest in the ER. Symbolizing how he’s already grown, but not matured. His legs ‘not lasting’ is accepting his mistake, his lapse in a perfect facade. He is apathetic and dry because he thinks he’s so perfect, it doesn’t matter. The only time we see him vulnerable, is when he’s not competing- actually, it’s when he’s failed. “Is it too much to ask,” that is him realizing he’s bit off more than he can chew, for him this is not a lesson to be learned, but a personal failure. Ogilvie will go the rest of his life thinking of this patient, whom he gave his father’s favorite book, whom he was too arrogant to save. He will either decide to learn from it, or hate himself until he crashes and burns.
