@the.mumin_official: In Islamic belief, the story of Islam begins with Abraham and his two sons: Isaac and Ishmael. From Isaac came the Israelites, among whom many prophets were sent, including Moses, David, and Jesus. These prophets were given revelations such as the Torah, Psalms, and the Gospel. Islam teaches that these revelations were originally divine guidance sent to their people. Over time, Muslims believe parts of earlier scriptures were altered, lost, or not preserved in their original form. Because of this, Islam views the Qur’an as the final revelation — sent to confirm earlier messages and clarify differences. From Ishmael’s lineage came the Arabs, and Muslims believe the final prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, was sent with the Qur’an as a universal message for all humanity. The Qur’an is understood in Islam as preserved and memorized generation after generation. In this way, Islam sees itself not as a new religion, but as the continuation and completion of the message given to earlier prophets — from Abraham to Muhammad ﷺ.
