Leaving corporate wasn’t just about walking away from a paycheck… It was walking away from the identity I built for over a decade. 👩🏻‍💻 From college to climbing the ladder, I built my life around being successful, financially independent, and “on track.” I told myself my career proved I was capable. Smart. Equal. Valuable. 💸 So when I walked away from six figures… It didn’t just feel risky. It felt like I was erasing the version of me I worked so hard to become. 😰 The fear of losing my independence. The fear of failing my family. The fear of being judged for changing my mind after investing 10+ years into something. No one talks about how quitting your job can trigger a full blown identity crisis. And it doesn’t just happen and pass quickly… I’ve been out of corporate for 2 months and still feel the internal “who am I now?” battle on a regular basis. But I’m learning that fear doesn’t automatically mean it’s the wrong decision and the lingering identity crisis is totally normal. Stepping into something unfamiliar, scared & unsure, is one of the bravest things you can do. Follow for a new episode of Confessions Of A Corporate Quitter weekly, each covering an essential part of my journey escaping corporate America for good. 📌 Save this post if fear is keeping you stuck in a job you hate (PS - you’re not alone!) 💌 Send this to someone who’s needs a reminder to be brave and do it anyway. #quittingcorporate #9to5 #quitting #corporate #quittingmyjob
