A religion professor of mine used to say that she thinks the first thing God will ask us when we get to heaven is not l“what did you do with your life?” God will say “I gave you Sunshine and people to love and flowers to smell and bread to eat. This is from James Taylor’s 1976 thoughtful lyrics in his song “Secret of Life”. It’s such a beautiful song. I remember the moment I first listened to it as a teenager in the Seventies and it’s still in rotation. Calming, perspective changing and resonates every time I hear it. Timeless.
