@breannadeweese: to see what it took for me to be able to love openly. to hear the stories of queer people from all over. to be seen and understood especially when it feels like all odds are against queer people. so emotional. @Stonewall Visitor Center #Pride #wlw #protecttranskids #stonewall #nyc
I was visiting the memorial alone and immediately burst into tears but locked in the moment I saw a queer couple trying to get a picture and offered to take it for them 😭

I accidentally stumbled upon Stonewall when I was in NY back in 2021. Just Marsha’s statue alone was enough to make me burst into tears. I love being queer. They can never take that away from me

Can someone explain the second one to me since is it like they wanted to convince the straight people that they didn’t mean any harm and after stonewall they were going to go ahead with those same plans of us it different?

My girl and I didn’t get the chance to go this past March but when we do I’m sure I’ll be a sobbing mess. I love queer history and nobody could ever convince me that the love I feel for my girlfriend is anything but pure

I worked at an art gallery non profit where in the same building had the stonewall museum archives and the World AIDS museum. It made me cry all the time seeing people come for events and fundraisers to help teach our community about our history, seeing queer people of all ages and backgrounds, meeting elders. I found out last year since moving away they’re losing funding….it made me fkn sick..
